Sanding & Final Finishing Help
I went a little over board on my last compounding & wax treatment to the point of reaching the gray primer. It's a small area above the rear passenger door handle slightly smaller than the size of a silver dollar.
I taped the area and papered around it and sprayed it with matching color. The spray coat looks several mils thick after removing the tape. Color match is good. Now it needs finish sanding and compounding. What proceedures, cleaners, paper grades & compounds etc. should I use to complete this process? Color is standard MB black. TIA DSR |

Meguiar's has a new video out...
Hi,
Meguiar’s has a new video out called, "How To Remove Paint Defects" While it doesn't cover "Spot Repairs", it does cover wet sanding, cutting and buffing and then final polishing and waxing. Suggested retail is $9.95 You can order it through any PBE store, (Paint, Body & Equipment), these are the auto parts stores in you neighbor hood that also sells paint and body shop equipment to your local body shops and car dealerships. You can also order it through the Meguiar’s Customer Care Center at 1-800-347-5700 The part number is PES101V It’s 50 minutes long and in my opinion, covers the subject pretty well. (I wrote the script) Hope this helps, Mike Phillips
