I am absolutely positive that there is not a better fitting or better behaved floor mat than the OEM rubber all weather mat.

Wal Mart, K-Mart, or Target, Ha Ha Ha ……… You must be kidding or crazy to think that you can get something better than the MB mats.
THATS IT! I am gonna buy the dealer rubber mats!

For this car, I need to get more pics after I washed the interior, kinda detailed it! Next step is to clean the exterior, remove wax around the mouldings and emblems ( the previous owner), rewax it, take off the wheels and wash em inside out and wax em! wash fenders etc....I think I am going crazy!

Thumbs up Satsfied

The black color blends nicely with the other black items in the interior, like the dash, steering wheel, shifter, etc. I still take out the black rubber mats to enjoy the light parchment color on beautiful sunny summer days, but the black rubber mats are nice enough to leave in all of the time. :p

I am quite sure you will be satisfied if you get OEM mats like mine. This is not a perfect view, but maybe it will give you an idea.

I bought mine from the Benzbin: http://www.thebenzbin.com/floor_mat.html
They are OEM and I love them! A must for areas that use salt in the winter.

Turned out he had 2 cheapo mats stacked on top of each other & was only getting 3/4 throttle when he floored the pedal.
While I am thrilled with the fit & quality of my OEM rubber mats, be prepared to " empty " them of snow & slush periodically, as the lip is not high enough to trap a great amount.

Thanks a lot manny!!

Too bad MB didn't make the lip little higher, that would have been perfect!

Yeah, I learned the hard way not to go on the cheap when it comes to rubber mats.

I bought a cheap set of mats for $10 at Auto-zone. I didn't buy them to keep snow and all off the carpet-- I bought them for rainy days so that I wouldn't stain the OEM carpet mats with oil and all.

The mats slid all over the place and made the inside of my car smell like a Rubbermaid trash can. I threw them out.

Anyone know where to get these all weather (rubber) floor mats. I called the Benzbin and they can't seem to find the part number...maybe I talked to a bad sales rep.

I checked on the mbusa site and they say they have been discontinued.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Matt

Ksing44-

did those Mercedes-Benz stamped door-sill protectors come with your car or are they after-market?
My '92 just has 2 metal strips and they're starting to look a bit tatty.

Try the mat depot, www.matdepot.com. They have custom fit rubber mats made by Lloyd's for $50.95 for 4. I have purchased the clear mats made by Lloyd's and they fit perfectly.

Thanks Lou,

Except I really like the OEM mats. I'd prefer to get a set of those if possible. I'll give my local dealer a call, perhaps they have some in stock, or can get them for me.

Thanks,
Matt

Dealer had one set left.

bekkers.com also shows them in stock on their website.

I picked up a set of Mercedes black rubber mats on eBay last year for $25.00 USD. They looked brand new when I got them, the previous owner must not have used them. Because after one winter season they have lost a little luster. I agree with the previous posts that the lips is not high enough if you drag in a lot of snow or mud. I was diligently cleaning them but they still manage to spill over.

BTW, my experience is that they fit perfectly. I thought MB might have made some generic mats but it looks like this was custom for my model.

MB rubber mat without MB carpet mat?

Does anyone use the MB rubber mat without the MB carpet mat?

On the back of my original MB front carpet mats, the sponge is partly peeling off, and leaves black sponge stain on the carpeted floor - the stain is not permanent -.
Shall I removoe the front carpet mats or not?

[1] benefit of using both the carpet mat and rubber mat

Though people say the MB rubber mats fit well, the MB carpet mats fit even better than MB rubber mats.

[2] downsides of using both the carpet mat and rubber mat

Interior space becomes smaller due to additional thickness.
The above mentioned sponge stain in my case only.

I use the MB rubber mats without the carpet mats. I can't imagine how the extra 5mm either way would make any difference though.

I use one or the other, but not both at the same time. I think the rubber mat would be too thick if it's on top of the carpet mat as well. I just keep my carpet mats in the trunk when not in use.
