OM603 head tools needed
I am looking to borrow, rent or buy tools to work on the OM603 heads (the removal tool for the OM603 pre chambers, injectors, valves and any else I might be missing)

For the injectors you need a 27mm deep socket with deep internal shoulders. An impact socket probably has shallow shoulders and won't fit over the injectors. Basically, the cheaper the socket, the more likely it will fit.
Unless you plan to rebuild the head routinely, consider the cost of having this work done by a machine shop vs the cost to rent or buy the tools. Sixto 95 S420 87 300SDL |

I was wondering the reason why you are needing to remove the head as I too am starting next week this process with my 603. My head gasket is allowing oil to leak so it gets replaced.
Not sure if you are aware of the cam removal process, but if not, there is an expressed importance from MB about proper sequense for cam removal and if not followed exactly, the risk of perminantly damaging the cam is very very high! You have to remove the cam first in order to get the head off. You may already know about the cam, but I thought I would warn you if you haven't! Good luck with your task, and if I can be of any help to you, please PM me. Steve.... |
