300SD Engine Swap
My 300SD has finally been finished. The 80 Engine had alot of different things on it. They had to swap the IP The oil pan remove the hydraulic pump and cover it with a plate. The trans would not work from the 85. I drove it the other night and it seems more sluggish now than when it was in the wagon. Any ideas? It has good power from take off but the high end power seems low.

Could be as simple as the checking the line running from the rear of the intake, to the crossover valve mounted on the firewall, then it runs into the ALDA. That line carries pressure from the intake and with the pressure signal from the turbo boost and when it reaches the ALDA it causes that to run more fuel into the injectors.
Could be with the engine swap that was left off somewhere. Or it could be plugged. That line very often gets plugged with oil from the intake. There is a banjo bolt on the rear of the intake, right there against the firewall. Take that out and check it to make sure it is clear. Then remove the line from the ALDA on the other side of the engine and blow though it to see if it gets pressure there. I may be disconnected somewhere betweed the two places, or it could be plugged. For the life of me I do not remember the name of the line! |

That was it. I went down and looked the engine over today because I am still waiting on the windshield. They broke mine! The line was off the manifold. I imagine this would cause a significant reduction in power and would probably cause harsh trans shifts also. By the way if anyone needs any good wagon parts let me know.
