Is there some type of lower engine cover for the 240D ?

What's up....

I really like the lower engine cover on my dad's 1992 2.5 turbo. It keeps the engine spotless and basically it looks brand new. I'm wondering if there is something like that for the 240D ? My engine is pretty dirty since there is no protection at all from road grime, salt etc.

Anything out there ?

Thumbs up Oil Pan Protective Plate

I looked on my EPC, and it appears to be an oil pan sheild Part # 123-520-03-42 still valid. It's about $120

Part #5 in the picture is the oil pan sheild
Part #38 in the picture is the radiator sheild- Part # 123-520-04-42

Dealer told me they were no longer available, I know I should have checked further. I have a full steel skid plate on my Jetta.

Why? Leaving the oil pan cover off makes for an easier servicing every time.

OE VW steel skid plate is easier to remove then the plastic cover.

My 240D has lot's of heavy dent's in the oil pan, and these covers are usually installed for 3rd word country's where there is little or few improved roads. Also most cars that had these installed by the factory had the 15" wheels. Amazingwhat you can find on the 'net these days. I had to dodge a chunk of broken concrete today that was triangle shaped and about 10" high.

I'd love to get my hands on a lower shield...protection from road debris and to help keep the engine warmer in the cold. Would a 240 shield fit a 300?

Oil Pan Sheild

I checked my EPC again, and the answer is Yes they will fit 300d and 300 turbo up till 85. The $120 price that I listed was retail, but I bet that if enough members were interested in them, phil may be able to sell them wholesale or near-it which is $80 to $90. If any member decides to order these sheilds, Please post comments, procedure, and pic's....
