Headlight problem with "new" euros 97 300D
I put some DEPO Euro headlights on my 300D after I hit a deer earlier this year, and for a while everything was fine.
Now, suddenly I have an intermittant right headlight on low beam. I know the fuse and wiring to the headlight switch is good, because the fog lights work off the same fuse and they work fine. Low or no voltage to the headlight on the low beam wire. A couple of months ago I had voltage (12V or so) but insufficient current to light the headlight -- voltage vanished when I connected the lamp, or I would get 12 V at the headlight but no glow. For a while, the headlight worked fine, now it's out again and I got stopped in a traffic check the other night -- sooner or later I'm gonna get a headlight out ticket (they were "checking for valid driver's licenses" at the traffic stop" -- first I've ever heard about that!). Anyway, I guess my real question is how are the low beams wired -- separate wire for each lamp from the switch or jumpered from left side to right side? I think I've got a wire come adrift somewhere making intermittant contact, second guess would be a bad headlight switch. Thanks! Peter
