W124

As my 2001 TDI is deceving me more and more I'm thinking that a MB W124 diesel is the right answer (in the past few moths i had to changed the mass air flow sensor N75 and my wipers died on me in the midle of the traffic on a rainy day.. so i had it ..)
My wife has a W126 and i love it (a bit slow but it handles nice for a big car)
But i have a few question before making my "final answer"
As i live in quebec and winter is with us for 5 long months....
how does it handle in the snow and ice and cold weather ?

Every model came with heating seats or is it an option ?

Does anyone has any experience of bringing a car from the USA to canada ?
My model of choice is 1987... so is a 15 year old car so i should pay no tax..(do i have to pass an inspection pay something special at the border..? )
I searched localy for W124 but the only only that i founs is a 1987 and the guy is asking 10k..... (167k miles) way 2 much...
I remember a member of this board selling his on e-bay and looked very good for 3k-4k..
