85 300D Engine shakes like crazy....Engine Mount?

I have my 85 300D back in operation now with a new fuel pump and its properly timed too and the valves adjusted...boy it seems like a Brand New Car, peppy and responsive--I am very grateful to every one for all the advice I got on the EGR, ALDA boost and so forth, but nothing can solve a Dead Fuel pump..
My only complaint is the Car it idles quietly enuough but the Engine really seems to shake like crazy..
I looked underneath the car and the rear engine mount seems to be not doing its job...However a 300D Diesel weighs a Lot and at idle I would think even if an engine mount was worn, the engine shouldnt shake that much...Does anyone have any ideas???

Search on rack dampener too. May be time engine/tranny mounts.

It is a bolt with a nut threaded on it. Mounted on the rear of the IP, below the shut off valve.
Loosen the lock nut and turn it in until the idle shake improves. If you turn in too far you will find out in a hurry, you will lose most of the power. If memory serves, you should turn it in until the idles smooths, then turn it back out a 1/4 turn? Maybe someone here recalls the exact instructions. If it is left in too far you will lose power and may not be able to back it out of the driveway.
Try to see the color of the pin. If it is brass color, then it is the replacement part, if aluminum silver, itis the earlier old part that will need replacement, not sure which year the change on that was made, your car may have had it to start with. You can get an idea of how worn the damper pin is by removing it. There is a spring loaded pin on the end. That should have a little spring action left, when they get worn the spring action is not there.

I too have idle shake. Funny it only shakes at running temp. Smooth as glasss when the engine is cold.

Sure can't find one on my 1980 300SD, 617.950 engine. Is there some possibility that it is under a round-stamped cover? I can't get my camera back in there to take a picture.

On my 81SD it sits on the rear of the ID, in that tight space between the IP and the filter cannister. Has just enough room in there to get your hand in there.
The 80 has a different engine, if I recall it has the 617.950, the 81 came with the 617.951 engine. I am not familiar with the 950, but seems I had heard it did not have a fuel rack damper? Not sure.
