Alison,

We went to a lot of trouble to help you. So please give us a better description of which clamp it was.

Ah, but you got to LOOK like you knew what you were doing, eh?

Glad it was simple, as most of these type things are if you fix them right away.

Get the coolant tested for proper freeze protection before winter if you added much water! You are up north, after all.

In fact, if not done in the last two years, a flush and coolant change is probably in order anyway.

If you maintain these cars, they last nearly forever. Neglect them or don't fix problems right away, and the become expensive junk in short order.

Thank you!! My car was taken care of obsessively before I got it from my great uncle. He was the type to use a wisk broom before entering...need I say more?! In fact before I got it, they had new tires put on, new brakes, a new radiator, new belts, and even had a little dent pounded out...and so now I feel compelled to keep it working/looking as good as it did when I got it...thank you all so much for your help because otherwise i think i might have just let it go until next weekend when i go back to minneapolis!!!
