difference in engine between 87 190D 2.5t and 90s 300D 2.5?

What's the difference between the 602.96 and 602.97?

Thanks,
Sixto

the earlier engine has mechanical controlled turbo boost similar to the 603. it also has 5-6 more HP than the 90's models.

I discovered an interesting German web site devoted to the 190D's.
It is sometimes working and sometimes not
http://www.190d.de/
To convert kW to HP, multiply by 1.34
I still haven't figured out the last photo, it looks like a rear door that slides open instead of being hinged, and a wheel chair being taken out by the driver.
