Blower Fan dies in 87 300d at same time vacuum locking system comes back to life..

The other day the blower fan on my 87 300D stopped working and the Central Locking System which I long considered dead came back to life, all during the same car trip..suddenly the CLS started working normally.....and I know this may not be too analytical, but I am wondering if the two are related through a Grounding Problem
