FYI re the Fl car: Palm Coast is 30 m north of Daytona Beach. They were spared most of the brunt of the three hurricanes, as opposed to Palm Bay near Melbourne which got hammered. I would not worry about flooding. However Palm Coast is nearer the ocean. I personnally would avoid any car near the ocean. Also Palm Coast is a new development which did not exist not too long ago. I doubt it's an original Florida car.

Good Luck

Gah! And a few months too early for my purchase. I have been following it, but I have wierd demands in a 240D. I want an automatic, preferably with a grey or black interior/dashboard. I would like power windows and a sunroof but they are no biggie.
If I found like a green '80+ with the above, I would snatch it up like a hobo on a bagel.

I would stay away from a FL car unless you can prove it has never been underwater. I have been seeing a lot of FL cars for sale. Just like boats the market is now flooded with damaged boats.

Hat Guy,

That reminds me of a wonderful(?) scene I saw a few years ago at Daytona Beach when you could drive a car on the beach with limited restriction. I saw some kids driving Daddy's E55 (FL Plates) along the surf line occasionally hitting puddles of lovely salt water, spattering the brine all under the car. I wonder what the effect will be on that car in the future??????????. Ever wonder why some cars' aluminum in the engine bay is corroded?

Also, I can't count the number of times I witnessed all sorts of cars, exotic, hi end, even diesels driven by Daddy's jewels at the local dragstrip. "Only going to a late movie" Ha Ha

One just never knows. I'm always looking for the car from that little old lady, hopefully not from Pasadena.

I am unusualimports on ebay. The car was owned by a school teacher, she special ordered it in 1979, and she kept it garaged its entire life. She kept every receipt, and she was thankfully never in an accident, and she didn't smoke. The car has been in Memphis,Tn since 1980.

Thats awsome it was probably a leased car so they don't care. Next owners might though If I had a leaser I would head for the water to!

That is a nice 240D I wonder what it will bring?

A shameless plug for myself. (perhaps self-created spam)

I am about to increase the number of 240D's on ebay by one.

I have a 1980 240D in pastel grey with a black interior. Just turned 140k miles, one owner, garaged for 25 years, original paint, perfect dash, zero rust, all documentation including window sticker and very methodical records.
All original glass, becker radio, unmolested in every way,no undercoat.
The nicest 240D that I have ever owned, looks like it did in about 1981.

I am listing it tomorrow. Bids will start at $19.80

So why sell it? Aren't you a diesel lover anymore?

The reason I say this is everybody knows how hard to come by such a good example and any diesel lover would love that one!

Whats your ebay name? I'd like to watch this one...

Cheers,

Bill
