Excellent find at a good price! You probably will need a block heater up there if you intend to run it in the winter. But, as a summer car, it's perfect.

Since I have learned this the hard way, I will be engraving this on a board
and hanging it in my office!

I stand corrected but then I don't know much about 240D's either.

Patrick you Dog!!! I was scheduled to go look at it this Saturday. Stillwater, MN., ex Airforce heading back to Oklahoma. He called me at work this morning to say he sold it. Man, was I bummed! You owe me one because I grilled him completely over the phone and said he was asking too high for it. He said he really didn't know what it was worth, but had seen another one in the paper for $3800 or so. He asked what I would offer, and I said if it was as clean as he said, maybe 2ish. He said he would entertain that - I was thrilled, cut his price in half before I even went to look at it.

Well, at least it has a good home. My wife wasn't very understanding of me wanting another benz diesel anyway, so I suppose you really helped diffuse what could have been an issue at home. My kids already think I'm an idiot because I drive my 300D over my TL most of the time.

I wondered if a fellow forum member snagged it, and then I saw your post
Enjoy

Hmmm...a potential to hot rod a 240D...let's see a turbo with a little propane injection would be a good start.
