300D engine in a 300SD?
My Dear Diesel Brethren,
I have found a nice 1985 300SD with a weak engine and I have a crunched 1985 300D with a nice engine. Is this a bolt-in swap? I know that the transmissions are different, but what about the engines? I have been lusting for a 300SD for some time now . . . Thanks! Joe Gottschlich |

Should be a straight swap if neither is a California car. If one is a California car, mix and match the bits as necessary.

I think you will have to swap over the oil filter housing, but everything else should be the same.
