Your choice.
It is your car and money.
I have given warning; a fact of science does not change for anyone.
I would like to see their justification of that statement.
It sounds to me to be a big pile of Hog *****.
I have 40 years experience in the electronics industry - Phone co, Power co etc, and regularly work with multiple source DC power systems, including engine driven DC alternators, closed circuit vapour turbines, solar and rectifier systems, some using 2 or 3 of these.
I have had vehicles with dual batteries, dual alternators, with or without diode isolators and/or switches. All have shared the vehicle chassis as ground.
NONE have ever had problems you describe and ascribe to the use of dual alternators.

I await their justification!

I don't have the time or energy to be middle man on this.
If you want to mount two alternators on your car, that is your choice.
I do NOT suggest doing it.

Thats what I said - I have done this before, but if five automotive engineers say so I'd better not try it again.....

Ahhhh yes another addition to my project post. The new dash is in, and I have started to lay out the center console. The dash took nearly 14 hours straight! The most time consuming thing was cleaning all the little bits and pieces before reassembly. Installing took several install, remove, adjust this little piece of wood 2 mm that way, install, remove .... you get the idea. The result I am happy with for the most part. There are still some details that need to be wrapped up with the dash, the headlamp bezel is off a mm or two, and some paint/chrome work is needed on the vents, otherwise I am on the way to a "showroom" car.
The center console I have put about 3 hours into, creating a space for the monitor. I have been working on where to put the switches, and think the final solution is in the picture below highlighted by yellow squares. The horizontal switches will be replaced with 124 units so the logos aren't sideways.
As you can see everything has a fine layer of "Beav" dust on it, due to the conditions in the parking garage and highlighted by the camera's flash. Yes I took the pictures in the dark but you get the general idea. I did forget to photograph the exterior of the car with the new euro lights and tail lights so I will post those soon.
The project is moving quickly now that all the wiring is done, and I will update this page accordingly with new photos of the work. If you have any ideas please share them as I am always open to intelligent criticism. I know you purists out there are staring in blind rage, but I think the modifications will blend with the stock design nicely.
P.S. - that nasty "coin tray" is an experimental spare, pay no attention to this!
