Injectors-Repair or replace?

Hello,

A question concerning injectors for a 123. They've got over 240K on them and as far as I know have never been serviced. So, are these a "ain't broke don't fix it" item or should they be serviced at specified intervals? The car runs fine, gets about 25-28 mpg and makes smooth power. It does however idle a little rough at times. If they should be replaced does anyone have a good source? Thanks for your help!

two words-------------------Diesel Purge.

If car runs fine and it isn't nailing then its a "don't fix what ain't broke" sort of thing.

Thanks for the info.

I've run the diesel purge procedure several times since I've owned the car and it hasn't made any noticable difference. The car never nailed until recently. I was driving into Denver just after fueling up at a highway truck stop and it started to nail in the most unbelievable way and had no power. I thought the motor was going to fall to pieces. I found a mechanic who explained that I needed to turn up the alda to compensate for higher elevations and that more than likely I had gotten a bad batch of fuel. He seems to have been right as the alda adjustment restored the power and also seemed to decrease the severity of the nailing. The next tank and the nailing was completely gone. Since then it's been fine. So I guess I can relax and forget about the need for new injectors! Thanks!

yes, sounds like you got a load of crummy low centane fuel, glad your problem is gone.

You sure that you didn't accidentally put some gasoline in your tank? Either that or the fuel was contaminated with water.
