1982 240D loss of power

Well about two months ago I was driving to work and noticed the car fluxing in power and then when I was almost at work it stopped gaining power and I had difficulties making it up any inclines. Then when I came to a stop the car died, it took me a few tries to get it started again and I could only keep the accelerator at a certain point to get anywhere otherwise it would loose power and die again. Any thoughts? Could it be my injectors? or my fuel filter?

Thanks,

Thumbs up Simple diagnostic:

Replace fuel filters first.
Check all fuel lines for leaks or cracks.
Unscrew fuel primer pump handle, check for broken O ring at top seal.

Whunter is right.
Check the fuel filters. Clogged by debris or algae.
Check the throttle linkage I just had to replace the firewall pivot point on the 300TD. Make sure all the throttle parts are connected correctly and are sound. Air filter? How old is it and whens the last time you looked at it?
