Two 190D manuals on e-bay
Not in the best of shape, but this guy has two 190D manuals on E-bay.
1986 190D 2.5 5-speed 1984 190D 2.2 5-speed Second one looks much better overall.

Ha ha... The ad for the '86 says "SEATS ARE BLACK MB TEX AND THE MB-TEX ARE SO DURABLE THEY SOMETIMES OUTLAST THE CAR", and then shows a picture of the driver's seat all worn out and full of cracks! (http://carad.ebayimg.com/i9/02/a/02/e7/ea/05_4.JPG)
If the seats outlast the car, and the seats are worn out, then that statement implies that the car must therefore be worn out too! eBay auctions are always funny...

I saw them yesterday while browsing through ebay, I thought they weren't that nice at all. If you look closely in the tan one it has a radio missing, the clutch pedal is really worn, big rock chip under the passanger light etc etc.
I was considering the tan one but I changed my mind after I enlarged all the pics... kamil

Now how can you possibly believe anything else that this auction says? I know vinyl can easily crack in frigid weather, but I have a little trouble believing the mileage on this one. Still I would like to have this car, if it were a turbo I would be making arrangements. BTW, when I read the title to this thread I thought it was about books. If you look though, the other seats are actually in very good shape compared to the driver one.

The seat doesn't look deformed like a high mileage seat. It looks like one that someone plopped their butt in when it was -20°, those fracture lines look familar. Still no confidence in the seller.
With an untrustworthy seller, no turbo and in that location with the rust probability, I'm passing. |

As I stated, not in the best of shape. Just posted because they were manual trans 190Ds. BTW, I purchased my 300CD from this seller and I'm very pleased with it. He seems to buy the cars from a large auto auction in Virginia where dealers send their trade-ins to. He was pretty straight foward and honest with me and the reason I noticed these two 190Ds is because I still have him listed in my favortie sellers list. All that being said, I have yet to see him list another Diesel Mercedes in as good a shape as mine and he seems to have caught onto the same bug many other dealers of these cars have (it's a mercedes, it'll sell for more no matter what). I gave him good feedback for the car I got that was in excellent condition for $2500. He claimed in the ad that the A/C didn't work, but it was nothing more than a fuse. I flew up and he picked me up from Dulles (DC) and drove 45 mins. back to his lot where I got to check the car out. I drove it and decided it was more than worth it and agreed to buy it. To this day I am still very happy with my purchase. Would I buy something else from him? If it seemed like as good a deal then yes, but I'd check it over real careful first. I don't think he knows these cars all to well and he mainly deals in them because they sell.
