I, retard, broke radiator tank
yep. Must have overtightened it, cracked all the way around the neck. Judging from the looks of it, the crack may have started a long time ago. I've searched and learned a bit, anyoner else care to chime in on options to reattach the last 1" of the top neck (on the driver's side)?

I have seen copper pipe placed inside the neck and epoxy. If fact, **************.com carried a "kit" for this malady.

If it cracked that easily it was probably brittle and would have happened soon anyway. At least you found out about it now and not while you were driving down the road like I did.

Radiator shop may be able to replace the top tank.
The cost of a new radiator is cheap insurance. |

Yes do a search, someone posted where to buy the top. I may have it saved at home, but I'm away from my DT right now. If you find it post it or I will when I get home.

All plastic radiators suffer from this problem -- I've done two Volvos and I ran into a youngster at the parts store getting fittings to attach the tranny cooler lines to his replacement Chevy radiator that had a broken inlet neck.
I strongly recommend checking them cold periodically -- much cheaper to replace the rad than to rebuild the engine. Peter

I hate plastic radiators. My Toyota's split open along the back at exactly the 10 year mark.
