Hey, but it's got that "smaller Euro look". Yes I think I have seen it in the last couple of months. Try doing a completed items search.

It does look quite nice. I like that body style. Is the extra tank in the trunk for veggie I wonder?

I called the guy..

seemed to be a really nice person. The tank is just an "extra tank" he said. He didn't see any veggie conversion equipment on the engine, he said. The car has no rust according to him. He said that the glow filament in the dash does not work but that the car starts very easily and on the first try. He says that it runs great! (don't they all say that?) He did sound like a pleasant person to deal with. They want $1995 for the car but I made him an offer somewhat less than that and he said he would let me know tomorrow. We will see.

How does the 220D handle the highway? Easy acceleration? Good fuel economy? Comfortable at 75mph?

I ask because I want another MB for a highway commuter and this may be the one.

Thanks

dlssmith,

220s handle better than the SDs and SDLs because thet are much lighter.

Fuel mileage up to 35 MPG.

Acceleration, poor.

OK at 75 but engine ie really revving.

I will consider it though since I am in a rural area and I don't have to fight traffic to merge onto the highway. My brother lives in Sacramento, and I've asked him to look at the car.
