Why doesn't it "buzz" anymore when I leave the lights on ?

I just noticed that the car does not make that "buzzing" sound when I leave the lights on and open the doors. It does buzz when I preglow the car so I know it's not the buzzer. Any suggestions as to where to even begin ?

Thanks

Does the dome-light go on when you open the door, those door switches do go bad after?

Where is the buzzer located in these cars? Or specifically a 126, as I am interested in finding a "sound chip" at radioshack that I could put my own sound onto, then put that in there with a switch so I could go between the buzzer and my own custom sound I don't know if I'll ever do this, but I'd think it would be interesting to try.

Then it's the switch, switch the right one to the left and see what happens.

Most-likely when you "wiggle" the bad one it will go on again.

Thanks

I yanked that connector under the dash off, couldn't take the horid buzzing mine makes anymore. I wonder what else that controls....
Yours must still be connected if you can hear it at all.
Maybe I should fix that thing....

Has anyone replaced that darn buzzer with something that sounds a little less bone jarring?

Well there are two reasons why you hear this
buzzing.

1) When leaving the headlights on and removing
the key.
If you then open the door the buzzer will sound.
This is to remind you that the headlights are
still on.

2) When you start the car and you don't have
your seatbelt on, the buzzer will sound.

Knowing this you can track down the problem.
If the buzzer works in situation 1 then the
buzzer is OK and then the problem is in the seatbelt receptical(s).
If not, check the fuse.

Louis.

It's definitely not the switch. I tried 2 of them and the dome light nor the buzzing did not work. I put those same switches in another car and it worked fine. The passanger door works fine when I open it and the dome light comes on. The buzzer is not broken cause it buzzes when I preglow.

Where do I tackle the problem now ?

thanks

Kamil.

Sorry but this will confuse you a little.

When you're in your car, put on your
seatbelt first.
Then turn key to pre-glow.
You will notice that there is no buzzing sound.
The buzzing is for your seatbelt and not the
pre-glow light.

lol. well I still need to figure out how to fix it cause I hate not having the dome light on when I enter the car. I leave my lights on all the time too since no more buzzing sound.

Warniing module (next to cruise control amp.), or wiring to it, would be my next check. Mine had "de-soldered" points in the buzzer there. Circuitry for the front dome light runs thru the warning module also.
