300D Suspension Problems.. help!
Hey all,
I just started up my 1992 300D 2.5 and I drove it, planning on going home from school (I live on campus) and it felt like my car wasn't "bouncing" as much. I thought one of my tires might be flat, so I got out and checked, but it turned out that the left rear section of the car doesn't bounce at all. It's like someone has just taken the shock totally out of the car. What does this sound like to you? I think it might be the suspension depressurized, but I'm not sure, I'm not good with this kind of thing. Any help? |

Self leveling suspension or springs and shocks?
Too much bounce (no damping action at all) or totally locked up, only the tires flex? Peter

I don't know what the difference is between self-leveling and springs/shocks.. but I do see springs underneath the car when I look under there.
And there is no bounce at all, it seems to be totally locked up. |

Either a bent or internally broken shock (spring suspension) or a dead accumulator (hydraulic suspension). I believe you have a plain spring suspension, but the hydraulic one was optional on some cars and shows up once in a while.
Probably just the shock. Peter

What if it is just a dead shock coupled with a 25 year old spring with a super hevy MBZ sitting on? he says it doesnt bounce but that dosnt mean it doesnt move.
