O Rings on oil filter stem...question
Hi,
I have a 1988 W124 300D non turbo fitted with the OM603 engine. In the morning when starting from cold, it will take roughly 10seconds for my oil pressure guage to show any pressure....when it does it goes straight to 3 and is fine thereafter. I have read that the O rings on the stem/pipe that goes through the middle of the oil filter can wear, which in turn allows the oil to drain from the filter. I also understand that you can replace these O Rings, however, when I went into my local Benz dealer, they said the only thing I could do is replace the whole stem/pipe as they do not list the O Rings individually. Is this right?......or does anybody know the size of O Ring that I need to get....any other ideas or thoughts? Many thanks
