Here is a smart buyer’s car for sale here for sure. Here is why it’s for a brilliant buyer only. A dummy will spend $8,000 for a car exactly like this one with 150,000 miles on it when this car at 350,000 miles can be bought right now for only $3,800 and it still only at ½ of it’s life.

That’s right we are a diesel shop here, we see these old Mercedes and VW diesels come in at 4-5-and 600,000 all the time. They will get this life only if serviced properly like this one was. If the miles scare you, you probably don’t understand these machines. I understand them and sell hundreds every year. Believe me this is probably in better shape than most 100,000 mile ones that come in for work here at the garage.
hmmmm.

Another 600,000 mile story...

we see these old Mercedes and VW diesels come in at 4-5-and 600,000 all the time.

If he can guarantee that, I'm willing to pay $10,000 on the spot.

How many has he really seen? Why can't these guys just be honest.

You guys are too rough. I have personally seen a few diesels with over 500k, and I've even owned one with nearly 480,000 miles on it.. and I'm not a professional mechanic!

This has nothing to do with the quality of the car, and what I believe to be a nice, solid example that has been cared after.

My friend has a 240 D with 499,000 miles.

I have a friend who has a 240D with 499,000 miles. It is still running well. These miles are original because he is the original owner.

Judgeing by how clean the engine seems to be I say this does look like a nice example. Mileage isn't bad if it has been taken care of.

The suspension and trans are due soon if not yet done. Other than that for $3k give or take not a bad buy.

Actually, It's a nice 300SDL if the pictures are as good. You can tell that the engine was cleaned. Interior looks good, although i'm not sure what the dash looks like. Probably some big cracks on that dash. Not knowing the suspension or the undercarriage, i'd say $3000. maybe $3200. I think he exagerates his ad simply because the car has so many miles, so he tries basically to say "hey don't worry about the miles, you can put another 250k miles on this car". Whether that's right who knows, kinda like the #14 head on a car with 200k miles you never know when it's going to pop.

If it doesn't get +35mpg or go 140 mph it's just not going to work

If it was taken care of properly it might last. I put 450,000 on a 190 gasser.
