Automatic to Manual Conversion
Hey- a local junker just acquired a couple of early 80's 240D's with manual tranny's. Has anyone successfully transplanted a manual into an early 300D? My car is a 1976- different body.

Dave,
Is your 300 a W115 chassis? If so, I don't think the pedal group from the W123 will work on a 115...I'm not absolutely positive, but a cursory examination of the pedals on my W115 (240D manual) made me think that they were a little different from W123 pedals I have pulled. I would certainly take an extra close look at those cars to make sure that they aren't Euros with 5-speeds in them.

Leo is correct about the pedal group, but that portion should be readily available in the salvage yard.
Good luck with it, |
