Can they be made locally?

It looks like a real PIA. some one tell me it isnt so.

I cannot imagine doing it with the motor in the car. but it leaks fairly good...

what to do?

Many have said they could do the swap without taking motor mounts lose and jacking the engine, but it does look like a PITA to me, so I always just throw a jack under the engine, unbolt the hex mount bolt, unbolt the shock mount and jack the engine up. Removeing the mount arm from the engine helps with space. Make sure you have the right size wrench for the end fittings (I think 24 or 26mm) before you start.

I have done an r+r on my 300sd, without removing anything other than the lines.

You have to know that it can be done, just keep telling yourself that. Be sure to remember the way they came out, most likely thats the only way they can go back in.

Just snake them on out, after they are disconnected.. should be no problem.
