they are plentiful at the scrap yards

why are the new tubes red????

They weren't plentiful in the yards near me. The parts manager at the dealer told me they are red because they are made from a more long lasting material. That doesn't really explain why they're red, but that's the answer I got.

black spray paint for rubber/plastic would fix that issue
