Mmmm... Trunk Triangle..

Finally stumbled across a clip for it, but I got my trunk triangle in today.

I have no idea why this trivial little accesory makes me so happy, pics when I remember to bring the cam in from the car.

I think it has something to do with the reflective/shiney factor. We all have a closet shiney thing lover inside of us

My goal is to build a robot that goes around my room, collects all shiney things, and puts them in a large pile in the middle :p
There are obviously faults with this but ya know...shiney things are pretty :p

found one in VA

Hey, was at the junkyard in VA and found a german mercedes trunk triangle in the rear of a 300TD, but this one folds out and sits on the ground. The lady gave it to me. It isn't the one that mounts in my 300sd trunk lid. But I have one too!

I agree - It's the little things (that also drives the wife crazy)

I did get my First Aid Kit
I did get my Triangle Mounting Bracket (waiting to locate the Triangle itself - I have received a couple of emails)
I did get my Bosch Euro's - waiting for more parts.
I am looking for other little things like the Roll Top Center Console in Burgandy - It just looks cool.
And there are countless other little OCD issues I'm sure.........

Next major projects include - Spinners, Air Suspension, Gold Bling Bling, Big Thumper in da trunk, Fart Can, Neons, and Bullet Proof Glass................

Stephen (hey - it's early in the morning and still on my first cup of coffee)

From the sticky
http://www.jaimekop.com/240D/lights/

They aren't rare...you can buy them everywhere just have to do some slight modifications like this guy did..

I just put the H4's in my w126...also in the DIY sticky at the end

There is another type of Euro light that looks like the US sealed beams, but there one piece with a solid front lens, but not square like typical euro's. Though I've seen the upgraded stock setup and it's pretty nifty as well..

Question

Oops! Hijack! (Well slightly) We have seen so many euro lights that I am starting to see blinding dots.

BTW, I am not familiar with this "triangle". What is it exactly? Does anyone have any pics or know where to see some?

Who knows, this might be another one of those classic Mercedes "holy grails" that everyone will have to have.

I found an MB triangle reflector that folds out and stands alone mounted in the trunk of my 81 Euro 300D parts car. Has a nice place in the deck lid where it mounts all nice and clean.
I keep it in my garage. Makes a nice ornament. Figure if it were used some a..... would grab it.

Triangle?

SD blue, it is an emergency red reflector device that you lean up against your bumper if you have a breakdown. Then you can call for free mercedes roadside assistance. This also of course lets other mercedes owners know you have gone over the edge as you remembered where it was. Part of the facination is that it mounts underneath the trunk lid and seems well made. Also was standard item in some models of mercedes delivered only in europe I believe. Seriously though just seems to be good practical ideal that I hope I will remember to use when needed. Think I like mine as it never leaks oil or requires repair, oops should dust it once in awhile I suppose. No! I do not want to start or see a new thread on the best way to accomplish this, thanks anyways. This is one item that if you know of someone visiting europe they should be able to pick up for a song as there should be thousands around in pristine condition and I suppose one should get the mounting hardware at same source. Truly a cheapy at last? Hopefully they will look at your friend strangely and tell him to take it away. Just re-read prior threads and did not know it folds open to support itself as have never had mine out. Anyone know recommended oil for hinge? I do not like the ideal of jumping up and down on it to get it open in sight of strangers. Most people that know me would consider it acceptable or normal behavior, but others.......

Our '84 190E 2.3 came w/ one from the factory (US delivery). I always got the impression that it was a much overlooked check-box on the option sheet or a dealer throw in.
Of course my factory option sheet (300E) says the original owner decided against a first aid kit,but I have one of those anyway (yeah...an option was to not get a first aid kit...odd...)
