Humbug - fuel fungus / algae test kit

In researching biocides to deal with my diesel/WVO fungus problem, I came across this 'humbug' test kit for determining the presence of fungus in fuel. It could be useful fo those of us having black guck in the fuel issues.

I'm going to get one and test my fuel. I'll report results here.
Never a dull moment at Berry Hill Farm.

Bugs in fuel

Microbial contamination is becoming a major issue here in the united Kingdom. Fuel retailers and truck operators are beginning to suffer badly. If you are looking for test kits have a look at which shows the test kit approved by IATA for testing jet fuel. You might also find the site of interest. The black gunk you are seeing could be dead bacteria killed when biocide is added - the bugs die and collect in the bottom. A test kit may not detect dead bugs. By the way how much does the Humbug kit cost?
