I am in the process of converting my vacuum door locks to electric. Since I have rewired the speakers and no longer have the fader switch connected I would like to replace it with a door lock switch. Does anyone know of a switch that will fit in that hole? A part number would be awesome but pointers are appreciated too. Thanks in advance.

There are a number of "on off" rocker switches that will fit it the hole. I would try the wrecking yards. Maybe a dome lt switch.

The switch that comes with Design Tech brand aftermarket keyless entry setups fits, with a hair of fileing. They *look* really darn close to OEM late 80's BMW window switches, you might check that out. If you wanted to be slick, find a sunroof switch from an MB, it's a momentary rocker, bet that'd work too.

There is an actual MB door lock switch in later year models. I have one in my S350.

Do you have a model number or something for that keyless entry system?

No model number handy, it's been superceded anyway. Any from design tech's website would work. I just have a single electric solonoid on the drivers door, others are still vacuum. The control valve on the drivers door controls the rest of the locks. It also has an alarm and remote starter. Not to expensive, takes some creative wireing though.
