I'm new to the Mercedes world, so forgive me if I'm asking an obvious question. I've been having a little fantasy about an 80's SL convertible with a 240d or 300d turbo engine swapped in. Maybe converted to run on veggie oil. I realize some of you may think this is a sick, demented fantasy Is a swap like this possible? Could those engines be drop-in replacements, or would it require engine mount mods, etc.?
