Brian, you'd be our personal hero if you came up with a kit for 98-99 E300's!! I know the EGR is computer controlled, however I think that if we simply block off the port on the exhaust manifold and put a breather filter on the corrugated pipe that goes to the egr, it might just suck air from the engine compartment rather than from the exhaust... Some have expressed concern that boost might be lost, but I don't think the exhaust manifold side that feeds the EGR is under boost pressure. Thoughts?

Thanks, sick of dirty intakes...

David,

My testing is simply to put your fingers around the face of the disc and feel for exhaust leaks with the engine running. Not very scientific, but, I couldn't detect any after using the sealant.

This has already been done by one of the members. He rigged up exactly what you are describing and fed fresh air to the EGR. The computer thinks the EGR is working fine.

I'll take a look around and see if I can find the posts on it.

That was on a 96, non turbo E300. Different setup. If it's been done on a 98-99, let me know!

Yep, you are right. I can't recall anyone doing it on the turbo version. There was quite some discussion about it, however. See if Rick Miley weighed in on it. He might have considered it and backed off due to the boost in the manifold.

I have all components completed and the kits are ready for shipment.

Everyone who requested a kit should have received an e-mail with payment instructions.

If you did not receive an e-mail, please send me and e-mail at hpcs@csi.com.

Additionally, if you wish to receive a kit and have not previously sent any correspondence, please send me an e-mail at hpcs@csi.com. I have made extra kits in this batch to provide for those who may arrive late to the show.

The first group of kits are on the road. If you sent payment last week, your kit will be there in two or three days.

All others who requested a kit should now send payment per the e-mail instructions.

Anyone who still wants a kit, please send me and e-mail at hpcs@csi.com.
