how long can one go without starting/driving?

We've had the worst weather the past few weeks with lots of salt on the roads, and I've been travelling some, and I haven't made it to the garage (I live in the city, about 3 blocks from my car) in a while.

And so, my great, reliable, seemingly happy W123 hasn't been driven in, gulp, over four weeks.

Am I asking for trouble? I remember reading somewhere (probably on this forum) that diesel acts somewhat as a lubricant, and so going for a while between drives is better with our cars than with gassers.

True? And if so, for how long. And is there anything I should do before taking her out (this weekend)?

Anyone have a record in-between driving periods?
