It will be April in under a week and the warmer weather is right around the corner. Now is a great time to make sure your cooling system is up to par before you have problems. Every summer their is a batch of overheating posts so now would be a great time for a little maintaince.
If your coolant is over 2 years old it is time for a change. If your hoses are over 10 years old change them. I like to do the upper every 5 because it is so cheap and is the one that usually blows. If your radiator is over 10 years old keep an eye on it. If it is 15 or older I would change it. I'd rather spend $200 now and not have the thing blow in traffic on a 100 degree day. At least clean the radiator they fill up with tons of stuff. Water pumps last a very long time as long as their are no leaks I wouldn't worry. Make sure your fans are coming on at the proper time. Don't forget your drive belts. For you SDL owners take off the front drivers side wheel. You will see a plastic cover with vents in it, your oil cooler is behind that. Pull the cover and spray the sand ect out of it. Good luck and keep those diesels running cool.
