Just broken in at 99,999 miles

Well I tried to delay this milestone for many days but it happened today I now have 100,000 miles on my 92 300D. I know this is not a big deal for these cars but, there was somthing to be said for having less than 100k on a car this old. I guess now I need to shift mental gears to seeing it to 200,000 and then to??? I put about 26k a year on it. and average a solid 32mpg. Not that I need to tell most of you this but, for the new reader it's been ~30,000 miles of a smooth fun commute to work. The only issue I'm working on now is the wood panels are starting to see a few cracks. I guess this is normal for a older car. Thank you forum for all the helpful tips.

I know the feeling of seeing that first 100K miles pop up on the odometer. My first w123 300D Turbo had 96K miles on it. On the other hand, 100K miles is stiill NOTHING for these cars.

Consider it a mile-stone in your cars history. Just think, in 45K miles youll qualify for the first MB high-mileage award- a grille badge awaits you. And thats only the first mile marker!

While an older low mileage car is somthing to be proud of on certain levels, an older car with high mileage in excellent shape is somthing to be even prouder of!

Veloce300DT; your correct, nothing is more impressive than a older high mileage car in good condtion. I look forward to a badge in little over a year from now.

E300D; The 32 mpg is in us gal, I somtimes forget that we have a international forum. I guess we all should swith to liters per 100 km rating. (what a conversion)
