Help with horsepower I.D.
Hello one of you guys expressed a question about the rated horsepower of the '84 mercedes 300td wagon I got recently. I am curious too? how can I get this info. it has a normally aspirated engine and a 4 speed manual tranny. block # R617 011 09 01, head # 6170160401MoCr
any help would be appreciated thanks mercedes 300td |

Since a naturally aspirtated (normal) 240 4cyl engine has a power output around 68hp, that'd be around 17hp per cylinder. All the 5cyl engine is is a 240 engine + an extra cylinder, so mathematically it'd have around 85-90hp normally aspirated. On the turbos its boosted to around 120-125hp. Makes sense to me...
