Thumbs up

Yup... can't beat that. I'd still like to get one with a bum motor, get myself some Pauter or Oliver rods and never look back. If ya can break those in that application, I'll salute you.

Must be really cozy with the dealer to get them to install a 603.96x in a 350SDL.

What's the head number?

Yeah, I'd like to roll the dice with that one. I wish he had more photos of the damn thing. Just too many things left to chance.....................

If anyone is thinking of bidding on this one I would warn you that the seller is the subject of my thread which I started on the general tech board:

A day at repair shop...or why auto repair is like sausage making

Needless to say I don't think very much of his way of doing things.

$3,700 is way to cheap for a 300SDL something is wrong.

A non original engine is why that car didn't sell for $10k. 350SDL's for some reason have very high resale, I can't imagin a nice 350SDL not fetching at least $8k.

225K miles and one photo??

Too cheap??

What are you buying??

How come you didn't buy it if it was so cheap??

There is nothing more expensive than a cheap Mercedes-Benz.

I am sure the crapy add had something to do with it. No one without knowing the car would bid on an auction with one picture. Heck why even include a pic just let people guess.

Wonderful point. I have been looking at cars on Collector Car Trader and although they have more listings than nearly anyone, the pics suck bad.

I sell machinist tools on ebay, without a set of good pics, you got nothing.
