raco filter/h20 seperator

has anyone ever installed one of this gadgets? i have seen one installed on a 300d and boy you could see a lot of junk accumulating on the bottom bowl.

If thats a glass bowl thing it would not hurt.....and you could dump the crap out along the road adn extend the life of your prefilter too...........

My parts car had one on it. I believe it was a "DahL", or something like that. I'm not at home to look. I believe Amsoil has taken it over now. If I can find a filter for it I was comtemplating using it.

I think you are referring to a RACOR water/fuel separator. They are available at any marine store. A water/fuel separator could be a useful addition to your fuel system but not necessary...........BB

Jimmy, Amsoil has replacement Dahl filter elements on their website, although finding them is a bit of a challenge. If I remember right, you have to look under air filters to find them.

I just ordered a Racor filter for the 240D. Getting a ton of rust flakes in the prefilter. Still getting traces of water even after pulling the strainer and flushing the tank. This thing must have gotten a massive dose of watered fuel at sometime in its life.
