300 SD alternator bracket

I have to replace my altenator and alternator swing bracket as the bracket had cracked and also damaged the alternator at the swivel point/section.
How do I remove and re-fit the adjusting bolt and the tensioner rod which is welded into the head of the adjusting bolt, without damaging anything?
Thanks for any ideas, I find your forum very informative and enlightening.
