Rent a Sprinter van?

Does anybody know if it's possible to rent a new Dodge Sprinter van anywhere? I'm planning an extended road trip this summer and thought it would be great to rent one of these new diesel vans and basically camp in it instead of staying in hotels (not to mention saving on fuel costs).

Armada rents them and other diesel pick ups. I get sick of all the radio ads they run around here.

Check with RV rental companies. There are lots of different Sprinter conversions, and some Sprinters in Class C motorhomes. I'm sure someone rents them.

That's funny, Armada's website says their Sprinter rentals have a V8 engine. That can't be right.

Anyway, they're way too far away from me for a rental to make sense. I'll check local RV rental outfits.

Rent a Sprinter van?

I have driven one of these van for three years delivering medical equipment and supplies. The 2500c series gets the best fuel mpg. 5 cylinder mercedes diesel turbo. I get 20 mpg city and a very good 251/2 on Interstate 71 and 70west to wheeling, WVA. I have seen no change in the amount of weight load. I'm usually carry 1760 to 2000 lbs per trip. If you set the cruise at 66 to 68 mph you stay right at 25mpg. Watch out for things like people under estimating your speed to size of the van. If you rent from Sprinter make sure it is the 5 speed not 4. In 5 rpm's are at 2100-67mph. The seats have air pumps for back support, leg support. Four different orange colored knobs at the bottom of the seat to adjust every thing. Thats my happy meal.

There is a guy here in town that rents

the one in the picture. I rented it this past weekend (picked up on Wednesday and returned on Sunday afternoon). A local semi-retired couple own/rent it out which I'm sure they use the rent to make the payment. This one is a 2005 model - really nice turbo diesel pusher with 300hp. We spent the weekend in one attending the Harley Drags at the Silver Dollar Raceway in Reynolds this past weekend.
