RCI FUEL PURIFIER FILTER installed/pics.

Its a great filter. The FP-80 hold about 20 times the amount dirt/dibris/water of the stock filter. In fact the stock spin on does not remove water from the fuel. The RPI removes ALL the water & 98% of debis. Filters down to 10 microns.

Check out the the drain cock in the wheel well. Super easy to service. No filters to change. Just drain and refill.

Matt,

How does it work if there are no filters to change? What is the filter medium?

Here is an explanation from the RCI website:

As the fuel enters the purifier, it flows downward in a circular movement through a internal baffle system entering the lower chamber of the purifier.

In the first stage of purification, the velocity of the fuel slows down considerably, allowing any free water droplets and other contaminates to maintain their mass and not emulsify with the fuel. These impurities accumulate and remain at the bottom of the purifier until purged.

In the second stage of purification, the fuel migrates through three perforated baffle plates to stop any particulates and attract, by way of coalescence, any water droplets still remaining.

In the final stage of purification, the fuel passes through our patented coalescence medium to assure that any small water droplets or particulates will be coalesced out of the fuel stream. Only the clean fuel rises to the top.

The crap and water are drained through the draincock. My worry would be that the draincock would get clogged.

There is little or no chance of the drain cock getting clogged. And if it did all you would have to do is blow out the filter with compressed air to clear it.

I have looked inside the RCI FP-80 and what I saw were steel plates welded at different angles.
