Ding.... Light bulb goes on...

Seal-All is incredible stuff. By taking a scrap of old t-shirt material and kneading Seal-All into it, you can literally patch bullet holes in gas tanks.

I haven't seen this stuff in years. I last saw it in a K-Mart automotive dept about 6 or 7 years ago but K-Mart has closed all their stores around here. Do you have a local source for it? I bet you could repair an expansion tank leak with Seal-All.

Had this exact same issue with the TD. Did a de-grease on the tank, then used a hot-glue gun (set to REALLY hot) with the high-strength glue to fill the cracks and then build-up around it and across the seams to support it better. Hasn't leaked.

Anyone know the last year they had a steel tank? I've had all sorts of problems with air getting in my fuel system. Happened across this thread and AHA! Didnt even know I had an expansion tank. Pulled out the spare and sure enough, leaky tank. The lines are all old but not leaking. My tank is leaking form the seam in the plastic. What crap! I dont think this sort of thing is what Mercedes is known for...
Part no. is 1234700189 (for the plastic one anyway) Would the steel tank have a different part number?
