Isn't this just amazing???

Not looking for any answers with this thread, but I broke the line from vac pump to brake booster yesterday, and have been fighting that for 2 days with no luck.
While car was running during vacuum checking, I had to run a dog off from across the street. Was walking back down the driveway, and I am still just amazed sometimes by the amount of smoke this wagon will billow!
No whining this time, just some pics to make everyone with a non-smoking MB feel better....

Jimmy, don't feel too bad I still have my letter from the SoCal Air Quality department when my vacuum pump had a hole in it and it was consuming mass quantities of engine oil through the intake. I was a magician for a few weeks....my crowning achievement was when I made a 95 Camry dissappear in my rearview mirror in a cloud of smoke

Just like Andy's car.

Looks like Andy's 300SD, before he replaced the bad turbo and got his fourth injection pump = a good used injection pump.

I think Andy still has him beat. Andy smoked out at least an acre at idle.

I was told that was normal.. (but he told me a LOT of crap when i bought that car, that im thinking was all lies) the guy that sold me my car got in impounded, and ALMOST put the car in limbo at the DMV for years... he cost me SOOO much money in the first week I owned that car... *continues ranting and raving*

Mine hardly smokes at all. Under heavy load up small hills, I can see a trail, but not much more than a puff on start up and none visible at idle. Do I have a problem?

Sounds like normal operation of a good engine.
