THIS STUFF IS GREAT

I poured an entire bottle of the RFC while filling up and can't believe how much smoother and quieter the engine is. My car never smoked much, but i have noticed a difference in performance and quietness already. Great product, expensive at $4.29, but worth it. Pepboys is the only place ive found this stuff so far. Too bad.

diesel additives

On the inside of the fuel door for my 87 300D there is a very explicit admonition against using ANY kind of diesel fuel additives. The mercedes dealer, two of them, also reiterated this;;;;;;do NOT use additives in this 87 300D.

Does this have something to do with corrupting the trap? Any comment on this?

Carl

Trap Oxidator?

Certain diesel fuel additives may not be recommended for newer cars with catalytic converter-type "traps" or other emmisions systems that can be potentially damaged. As per "Benzmac", "Since 1995 the E300D used an oxidization catlyst & in 1987 diesels used Trap oxidators & they have refitted to later versions like E300D."

For accurate information, ask your local Mercedes dealer specifically about Diesel Fuel Catalyst, and 85+ by Redline. Or go to http://www.redlineoil.com and leave a detailed message for them via email.

I doubt that redline's products could anything but good for your car...

Scott, thanks for the feedback. I will check out the site. Where in Norcal are you; I recently relocated to Fort Bragg after living in Oakland and the Bay Area (Millbrae, Menlo Park) for years. I drive into the Bay area twice a month to pick up my kids and get into sonoma on occasion (can't stay away from Steve Klein's guitar shop; so many toys...so little money...esp for people with old german cars).

Regards,

Carl

I bought a case of 85+ from Eurasian Auto Parts (800-824-8814). I think I paid just over $3.00/bottle.
