603 head installed, hissing sound when rotating...
ok, so i installed the head on my 603, temporarily installed cam and sprocket without installing lifters, installed glowplugs and injectors...
when i rotate the engine manually i feel compression resistance as expected, valves are shut because of uninstalled lifters, though i do hear hissing, air rushing out somewhere... is this normal/expected? i'm not positive but i think they're coming from the valves? the valves are new as are the seats and guides. (Not yet seated properly) it could very well be hissing from the piston rings... how do i make sure everything is sealed properly? (injectors, GPs, valves... do i put anything on the GP, injector threads? like teflon tape or something? or do i just screw them right in? thanks guys
