Gear shift selector is inoperable
Today, I was in the 300D, I pulled into a parking space and moved the gear shift selector to P. I noticed that the selector was very loose, and it did not shift to park, it just stayed in drive. I moved the selector back and forth repeatedly, with no shifting. So, I wasn't going to leave it running in the lot, so I had to shut it down and call a tow truck. So, now I'm home, and the car is here as well. I had new shifter bushings installed about 2-3 weeks ago, so that can't be the problem. I'm suspecting that it is the locknut that attaches the selector rod to the lower lever that's causing the problems, but I don't have a lift to get under the car to an inspection, so to the indy it is. What could be the cause if my guess diagnosis is wrong?
