secret is we mostly get along well.....and I am real close with my two sister in laws....and my mother in law basicly doesn't try to run my life...and father in law is pleasant enough.

Guess I am just luckier than most people in that area.

And it helps that they probably don't speak much english.

My out-laws are actually good folks too. Boy, sure wish they lived in Italy. Upstate Pa. isn't exactly a foreign country-to some anyway.

The apple doesn't fall far from the tree and your wife is a nice lady too. Afterall, she does put up with you.

I am fluent in Italian....so their lack of english isn't a factor.....they may not be perfect...but I know when I am pretty well off and that many are far worse off.

One of my good friends is Italian. He has taught me a little but when i am among his family I get lost real quick. Afterall I am barely fluent in English!
