Cheap Fuel at Winn Dixie

Those of you that live in the south and are aware of Winn Dixie grocery closing the doors, may have seen the 30 - 90% discounting for store closing.
1 Gallon Containers of Winn Dixie Vegi Oil is $1.43. I used two carts

Hey,
Do you have to filter the store bought veggie oil or can you pour it right in?

For my part I pour it right in, its pretty well refined and it doesn't have gunk in it like used cooking oil - its fresh.

But I don't run it straight, but maybe a gallon a tank. Maybe at the price quoted I'd have to try running a higher percentage.

Is there any preferred type of oil to use, corn, canola, peanut etc or is it not a concern with clean oil?

Love Peanut but it's pricey, corn is second choice. Food Grade oils are ready to go IMHO.

Depends on the processing involved, but most refined oils are filtered to between 1 and 5 microns. "Virgin" oils (olive being the most common) are not often filtered to this level, but then if your rich enough to waste good olive oil in your car, then you can afford to have someone come change your filter.

Nvo

Just for giggles, I took a look at the five gallon boxes of veggie oil at my local Sam's Club. 14 bucks for five gallons of oil, peanut oil is the same price. Let's see, when diesel goes much over 2.85 a gallon. Might as well buy Sam's "fuel". Oh yea! Diesel was 2.79 on my way home. Guess what I might be doing next week. I know resturant suppliers sell veggie oil in a 55 gal drum. I wonder what the durm price is? HMMM.

One of the Winn-Dixies in my area that is having a closing is not quite as generous with the discounts. Most items are only 30% off. Most of the shelves were already cleared. Only thing oil-like left was some expensive little bottles of olive oil.
