Does anyone know where the Klima relay on a 1985 W123 300D is located, as well as the other relays for AC. I am tired of crawling under my dash in this weather. Thanks!

I'm not sure on that one Richard, but, all of the other Klima relays are located under the hood, between the firewalls on the W126. On the SDL it's on the driver's side. On the SD, I think it's on the passenger side.

Remember I am rewiring my dash..when I hook the brown white and white wire for my Tach up, the AC cuts out.
This is my last bug and then I am done!!!!!

Yes, you need to find the Klima. It uses the tach signal. But, I can't understand why connecting the tach would cause the a/c to fail. Unless the tach is shorting the signal in some way.

BTW, does the '85 have a serpentine belt or does it have the standard V-belts??

I might be in error regarding the tach signal for the Klima. I'm not sure if the Klima would need to monitor compressor speed if the V-belt is utilized.

Brian--Dad's 85 300-D has regular v-belts.

On my 85 TD it's on the fender well directly in front of the fusebox.

Sorry, I could not resist. Earlier I read a post that mirrored the above statement. It required several readings to finally understand the question.

I have a copy from the Mercedes CD set regarding Type III ACC in pdf format. It's about 2 megs, not sure if this message board will allow me to post such a large file. When the service manuals came out on CD's, quite a bit of information was omitted. Mercedes corrected this on the version 2 CD's.
