I'm not keeping any list yet. When I decide to make up a new set of kits, I'll post a new thread. It won't be before early next year, unless you all want to convince me that there are 30 of you who want one today. Normally it takes about a year to get sufficient new members to warrant another run.

They were $28.00 for the last two years.

They will probably have to go to $30.00 now due to the increased cost of the sealant and the gaskets.

Is there an EGR in a 240d? If so, where is it located so that I might make it go to heck?

I am sorry for the noob question.

On that vehicle, I believe the valve is underneath the intake manifold. I have not personally seen it, however, so, maybe someone who has one can confirm how to find it. If you are not familiar with what it looks like, it won't be easy to find that one.

I went to go disconnect mine earlier. I pull the rubber hose that attaches the vacuum line to the EGR... it crumbled to dust. The fact that it is a few inches from the turbo had something to do with that I'm guessing... The bummer is that I didn't even get the satisfaction of saying 'F-U, EGR!', seeing as heat beat me to it. Oh well, now I am minus an EGR and plus a vacuum leak. Time to head to Schucks in the morning.

Oh, and for $30, I'll take two sets of EGR block-off plates when they are made. One for the 190, and one for the 300 (124) that we are planning to get down the road.

I'm gonna just rig it for now... but I'll definitely take a kit when one is available.

Thanks.

It's a 1987 300 SDL (guess I should fill out my profile... but I just bought the thing.

Strange thing is that when I went to pull the line off of the EGR, I was expecting that the line connecting to the EGR would also be connected up somewhere else, not open on the other end.

On mine, the EGR valve has a tube coning off of it that isn't connected to anything. I stuck a toothpick in the tube and that blocked it off... not sure if I should expect that to do anything or if the fact that it was already disconnected means that the EGR wasn't connected up in the first place?

I didn't actually take off the vacuum from the EGR valve itself. I took it off this long arm that controls a flap. When the vacuum was connected to the flap it automaticaly opened. When I took the vacuum off of the "gadget" it closed the flap so no emissions were getting in the air box. The gadet looks like a small "cylinder" with a long arm on it that moves ie. opens and closes the flap.

see the little cylindrical canister on top of the black air box ? I unplugged the vacuum from that and the flap that lets the emissions into the intake manifold stays closed all the time.
